My First EdCamp Rocked My World

Yesterday I participated in my first edcamp with educational leaders from across the state of Massachusetts.  It was great to attend with my colleague and friend, David Keim. I am still processing all of the takeaways and looking at the resources from the sessions I was not able to attend. I am on overload but in such a good way.

Below is an overview of the day!  Check out #EdCampMALeads to learn more from the professionals who attended.

Step 1:  We showed up at Howe-Manning Elementary School in Middleton, Massachusetts, registered and grabbed a seat in the cafeteria.


Step 2: The lead organizer introduced the process for EdCamp and offered participants to add a topic to “The Big Board” (to the left of the screen).  Over 14 topics were put on the board, including SEL, Peer Observation, Innovation, Passion in Education, Project-Based Learning and Scheduling.


Step 3:  Participants attend and facilitate the sessions that have meaning to them!  People can pop in and out of sessions if they want (Dave and I went to different sessions most of the time, but stayed in the session once we were in them).
